Germany
Germany’s rich history in Southern Bavaria goes back hundreds of years. As I first arrived, I found myself enamoured with the dense green foliage woven all throughout the city of Munich. Some of the most beautiful architecture and historically significant artifacts can be found on display in the Munich Residenz Museum. As we left the city of Munich by train, the small German village of Berchtesgaden eventually came into sight. Staying in this small village was very refreshing for me, being able to get away from the rush of the city. The highlight of Berchtesgaden was getting to see the Eagle’s Nest, high up on the Obersalzberg mountain overlooking Lake Königssee.
